PATRICK ELLIS

MSPT, OCS

Southern West Virginia Physical Therapy was founded by Chapmanville, WV native, Patrick Ellis. His goal was to provide quality Physical Therapy with a personal touch. Pat graduated Magna Cum Laude from Concord College and earned his Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Wheeling Jesuit University. He has been practicing Physical Therapy since 2001 and was thrilled to come back to his hometown to open Southern West Virginia Physical Therapy in 2003.  

Pat opened a second clinic in Danville, WV in 2016 after realizing the need for personalized Physical Therapy in the underserved area.

"I saw a need to help people during times of injury and pain. Helping each patient physically and emotionally during rehabilitation with his or her specific need is important to me. I dedicate myself to providing the highest quality treatment."

Pat is a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist and a certified Vestibular Rehabilitation provider.

Pat and his wife, Heather, have two sons and are actively involved in the community, youth sports, and their church.

Summer Hill

PT, DPT

Summer graduated Cum Laude from West Virginia State University in 2017 with a Bachelor Degree in Biology. While there, she played four years of collegiate softball. She then attended Marshall School of Physical Therapy where she received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2020.

 

Summer is originally from Man, WV and now resides in Madison with her husband, Zachary and their two cats, Pearl and Simba. In their spare time, Summer and Zach stay active in their church and community.

 

Summer was chosen to represent our state as Mrs. West Virginia American, where she will go on to compete at the national level in Las Vegas. She promotes the American Physical Therapy Association #ChoosePT campaign and has made it her goal to use physical therapy to fight the opioid epidemic.

“I really enjoy helping people achieve and maintain their most optimal function. Since I was a little girl I always knew I wanted to help people to get better, and being a Physical Therapist provides a great path to do that.”

KELLY GREEN

PTA, AT

Kelly decided on a career in Physical Therapy after having many sports related injuries throughout her life. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training in 2010 from Alderson Broaddus College in Phillippi, WV. While at AB, she played collegiate softball on a four year scholarship. Kelly then earned a degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant from California University of Pennsylvania in 2013.

Kelly moved to Danville, WV after marrying her college sweetheart, Zach.  They have two sweet little boys, Gunner and Barrett. She enjoys helping others, being outdoors, play time with her boys, being active, and her furry friends.

BETHANY RATCLIFF

PTA

We were pleased to welcome Bethany to the SWVPT team in 2016. She is originally from Charleston, WV and is a graduate of Mountwest Community and Technical College in Huntington, WV. After a family friend was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre' syndrome when Bethany was 10 years old, she knew she wanted a career in the medical field. Although she considered going to nursing school, she knew her true interest was in Physical Therapy.

Bethany enjoys playing with her nephews, hanging out with friends, kayaking, crocheting, and doing anything crafty.

KRISTA SHUMATE

Office Manager

Krista was born and raised in Pikeville, KY, but has called West Virginia home for the last 19 years. She joined the SWVPT team in 2012 in the front office where she enjoyed greeting and getting to know all of the patients. She is now the Office Manager and Billing Specialist.

In her spare time Krista enjoys reading, shopping, spending time with her family, and cuddling her puppies, Muffy and Gypsy. Krista and her globe-trotting husband, Johnny, have two beautiful daughters, Lauren and Sarah.

AUDRA CHIRICO

Administrative Assistant

Audra is the "first face" of SWVPT in Chapmanville and greets each patient with a smile. She is a graduate of Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College and has been part of the SWVPT since 2013. She works diligently scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, and verifying insurance eligibility and benefits.

Audra enjoys hiking, reading, and traveling with her family. Audra resides in Chapmanville with her husband, Josh,
and their sweet daughter, Natalie.

ANDREW DAVIS

PTA

Born and raised in Lincoln County, WV, Andrew chose a career in Physical Therapy after seeing what an impact it had in one individual's life. He joined the SWVPT team in 2018 just after graduating from MLTC .

In his free time, Andrew enjoys watching sports, adventuring outdoors, and spending time with his friends and family. Andrew and his fiancee' Sydnee are planning to be married in August, 2020.

CHRISTY THOMPSON

Administrative Assistant

Christy was born and raised in Boone County, WV. She has been a part of the SWVPT team since October of 2017. Christy is the "first face" of SWVPT in our Danville office. She makes each patient feel welcome and right at home with her bubbly personality.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, antiquing, and restoring furniture. She resides in Danville with her husband Scott, aka "Woo", their children Scottie and Shelbee and two sweet fur babies- Bella and Pyper.
